Hello, I cannot seem to find a way to copy only new files from left folder to the right folder?
Unless i missed something?
So if i have a folder named "Events" that has 50 sub folders and i add a new sub folder with new photos, I want to copy only that folder over, nothing else from any other folders, even though modification times have changed on other files or folders, just new file names per say.
As when I tried to do a second compare or scan it wanted to synchronize over 1000 files, even though i only added about 50 files in certain sub directories.
It's very possible file modification times have changed, which is normal for my use, but i only want new fresh files copied over.
I am using "mirror" to sync files from my nas to a laptop.
Any help appreciated.

Copy ONLY new files, not modified, just new.

In the FreeFileSync (FFS) GUI got to the Synchronization Settings (F8) and select the Custom sync variant.
If you do not "Use database to detect changes":
(If you hoover your mouse over the Difference and Action icons you see text-tips)
• For the Difference category "Items exist left-side only" keep/select "Copy new item to right", the green arrow with plus sign icon (by clicking repetitively on the Action icon)
• For the Difference category "Left side is newer" select "Do nothing", the minus-icon
• For the Difference category "Right side is newer" select "Do nothing", the minus-icon
• For the Difference category "Items exist right-side only" keep/select "Copy new item to left", the blue arrow with plus sign icon, or "Do nothing", the minus-icon, depending on your use-case.
If you do "Use database to detect changes":
• For the Left Create category keep/select "Copy new item to right", the green arrow with plus sign icon
• For the Right Create category keep/select "Copy new item to left", the blue arrow with plus sign icon, or "Do nothing", the minus-icon, depending on your use-case.
• For the Left and Right Update category select "Do nothing", the minus-icon
• For the Left and Right Delete category select whatever suits your use-case.
