Compare-only in batch and show moved files in log

Hi all,

I've been using FFS for a long time - but GUI only. Now I need the batch mode and I've failed to find answers in forum for some questions.

1) Compare-only in batch mode
My understanding is that batch mode always performs sync. My problem is that I want to perform the sync on a certain condition, so I need a comparison first, then I would examine the results in the log-file using script and would then start a sync. For this purpose I need FFS to stop after compare. I haven't found the setting for that. Pop-up window doesn't help, as everything is supposed to run unattended.
As a workaround, I've tried to set all sync-actions to none, but in that case FFS doesn't show any changes!
So, do you have any suggestions as how to achieve comparison without sync in batch mode?

2) Assuming there's a possibility to only compare in batch mode, am I going to see in the log which files were moved and which were deleted and which are new? I need that info for my script to decide what to do.

Thanks in advance!

1) Not possible

2) Unclear. You say "Assuming there's a possibility to only compare", which wouldn't move/delete/create anything, but then you want to see "which files were moved and which were deleted and which are new". These are mutually exclusive. I'm guessing you meant "if there isn't a possibility to only compare", which in that case, yes. The sole point of the log is to show exactly what was done.

The only option to only Compare and create a list of proposed sync actions is in the FFS GUI.
After running a Compare, you can export the file list via Tools/Export file list.
