FFS / Time Machine conflict?

I've been using FreeFileSync (now on 6.3) on my MacBook for manually syncing files between it and my iMac. The iMac (OS 10.6.8) uses Time Machine to back up to an external drive. However, I've now noticed that the most recent back-ups are not-up-to-date. Other than the Applications folder, the most recent files are from 30 January. This is the date I started using FFS (6.1).

At first I thought the sync.ffs_lock files left on the iMac were to blame – I've now deleted them all, but Time Machine still isn't making its back-ups up-to-date. Is it possible there's another conflict between FFS and Time Machine, and if so, how can I fix it?

Never mind – I used Time Machine to make a back-up of the iMac on a different drive. This worked fine, so I updated the OS to Mavericks (was planning this anyway). I then switched Time Machine back to the original drive, and it's working properly again now. Not sure I want to let FFS look at the iMac again though.
