I have configured and tested the freefilesync function on my wife's laptop and my desktop, both Windows 11 PCs. On both, the batch files are saved with "run-minimized" and auto-close" selected. Show error messages is also selected. I have added the resltimesync to the startup folders on both. The issues are that on my desktop PC the realtimesync starts but displays the startup window and I have to click to actually get it running. On my wife's Surface Studio laptop the realtimesync does not start at all. I made a symbolic link to the realtimesync executable on the desktop and have to start it manually. Once running they both work as expected.
On my PC there are 4 files in the save directory:
RealTime.ffs_real
SyncSettings.ffs_batch
SyncSettings.ffs_gui
SyncSettings.ffs_real
On my wife's laptop there are only two files:
SyncSettings.ffs_batch
SyncSettings.ffs_gui
realtimesync startup on two PCs

You don't want to open RTS on startup, you want to open a .ffs_real configuration with RTS on startup

Did I misunderstand the video tutorial? I recall it showed realtimesync being dragged from the desktop to the startup folder. So what you are saying is I should instead copy the RealTime.ffs_real from the save folder to the startup? I did not see that file on my wife's laptop but I'll look again. Thanks.

Did you watch the video on the "Tutorials" page? It shows saving the configuration first and then dragging the configuration itself into the startup folder

And yes, at least that is how I am configuring my multiple RTS sessions across multiple computers. You could also probably put shortcuts to the configs into the startup folder, so you only have to update one configuration without having to copy/overwrite a second one

Yes, I watched it on the tutorials page and I just watched it again. At about 2:40 into the tutorial it shows dragging the realtimesync desktop icon into the startup folder which is what I did. Hence my confusion.

What is dragged into the Autostart folder at 2:40 in the tutorial is NOT the icon to start RTS, but instead the icon of the *.ffs_real configuration file you just saved.
Unfortunately, both icons look the same, so you need to notice dragging the icon of your *.ffs_real configuration file.

Well that explains my confusion. Thanks for the clarification and advice.
