Hi,

I am finding FFS to be a really great tool. However when backing up sometimes files will not copy across. Instead the error I get is:

---------------------------------
Cannot copy file
Error code 5 access is denied
---------------------------------

When using syncback it also fails but if I use Read/Write copy method instead of windows file copy method the errors do not appear.

Can you suggest anything to help me use free file sync to do the same job. I have tried:

(i) Adding my user to the backup operators group
(ii) Running FFS as administrator
(iii) I cannot find the sync.ffs_db file to elevate it. This file should be in the destination directory?

I am curious as to how syncback's Read/Write copy method works at all.

P.S. I am sure if I took ownership (I am trying to copy one of my dead systems hard drives to a backup drive) it would be fine. Taking ownership takes a lot of time though and will not enable me to read the files on any system I assume? It is preferable to remove the permissions for a backup so that anytime I need the backup in future any computer can read it.
