mint 17.1 network sync with tp link router

I'm not sure which version of ffs I'm working with, whatever is in the repositories for Linux mint via apt-get install. I have used newer versions of ffs on windows for sync over network with no issues but with this one and the tp link router it seems that every directory included in a sync has access problems, I haven't tried with another router that has no password/user names so I don't know if that's the problem but I couldn't figure out how to get a user account set on the router that wouldn't require any log in info to be applied. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!

I can sync to the networked drove using the same credentials using Windows 7 and ffs7.1. I'm not sure if I need to change something or if it just won't work in Linux
