I've been using FFS for a while now without issue, but at some point in the last month or two it's stopped working.
When I click on Compare (or when my auto-syncs start) it flashes through a few status items and claims it's done, but it doesn't seem to do any actual scanning and certainly doesn't find the file differences.
I've tried:
- Different Folders
- New Folders
- Re-Installing
- Running as Administrator
- Not Running as Administrator
- Disabling and Enabling the Global Settings
- Changing Symbolic Link Handling
- Changing Variant
but it always does the same. I had this issue with another folder and setting the Variant to "File Contents" made it do the scanning, but even that's stopped now.
What else can I try, or where can I look for an error?
Sync is complete in a second without doing anything

Have you tried to delete the database files? (sync.ffs_db) Maybe they're corrupted.

If the database were corrupted, FFS would show an error message. It is saved as a compressed stream, so even a single bit that is wrong will error out.
The problem in this case are likely incorrect filter settings.

Ah! The issue appears to be an empty Include box (no *).
I don't know how it happened, but it might be worth sticking in an error message to point that out in case someone like me comes along again :)
