I have FreeFileSync v14.9 running on Fedora 43.
I previously have backed up files from this computer to a USB SSD without any difficulty.
This time, I get the followng error:
Error: Unable to move (file path) to the recycle bin.
G_IO_ERROR_FAILED: Trash portal failed on (file path)
The SSD is far from full. The computer SSD is far from full.
Any ideas?
It is possible FreeFileSync automatically updated, as I have deliberately not updated it for quite awhile.
But I am not certain of this, and have not tried to revert to an earlier version.
Any ideas how to resolve the issue?

Generally external drives, like USB SSDs, do not have/support a recycle bin.
So, if in your Synchronization Settings (F8) you have set your "Delete and Overwrite" method as "Recycle bin", that might fail.
If you do not want/need to keep files that get deleted or overwritten by a sync, you can select "Permanent" instead.
Conversely, if you do want/need to keep files that get deleted or overwritten by a sync, you can select "Versioning". Versioning allows you to keep as many previous versions as you select, for as long as you select, in a self-selected location.

Thank you.
It worked to change the setting to "Permanent".
But, what I find odd is that I had no difficulty for years, doing many backups, with the setting as "Recycle bin".
