Generates error report to send to Microsoft

Just installed FreeFileSync 5.21 on a Windows XP system (SP3 with all essential updates). As soon as I try to run it, a box appears telling me that "FreeFileSync_Win32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and gives me the option of sending or not sending an error report to Microsoft. No details of the actual error are supplied, so it's pretty difficult to know what to do next, other than simply uninstalling it. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and re-booted several times, but all to no avail. Any ideas anyone?
