Hi,
I am backing up some files and folders, and I couldn't help notice the following when I looked at the properties of both source and destination:
Source - D:\
15,238 Files, 1,716 Folders
Size: 103 GB (111,260,450,524 bytes)
Size on disk: 103 GB (111,293,624,320 bytes)
Destination - E:\B\DESTINATION
15,061 Files, 1,1716 Folders
Size: 103 GB (111,252,409,312 bytes)
Size on disk: 103 GB (111,285,186,560 bytes)
That's a 177 file and 8.046875 megabytes of difference.
I made the backup using file contents and with symlink set to "follow". I then compared the source to destination, but according to FFS there are no differences.
I also have this behavior with a 1TB drive which I wanted to back up, but it also gave me some errors, but I think that's worthy for a different thread?
Anyway, thanks in advance :)
Source has more files than destination.

Did you check your Exclude Filter?
Files that satify the Exclude Filter rules will not be copied over.
That might explain the differences.

I found these paths (which are apparently there by default):
\System Volume Information\
\$Recycle.Bin\
\RECYCLER\
\RECYCLED\
*\desktop.ini
*\thumbs.db
I compared the source and destination with these paths removed from Exclude Filter, and it turned out that up to 10.8 GB wasn't copied! Luckily those files and folders weren't needed anyways.
Thanks very much :)
