RealtimeSync execution

Dear forum, can please someone explain what does this exactly mean?
"While RealtimeSync is executing the command line, monitoring is inactive and changes occurring during this time are lost.", It is from RTS help.

Are lost in the sense that the changes are not monitored so a new synchronisation is not triggered?
Or are lost in the sense they will never trigger a new synchronisation ever?
Or that they will never be synchronized again?
