Is there any way to apply new filter data to an old backup to remove unnecessary files?

To briefly explain: I am doing a volume backup of my games drive, with the steam folder in it. When I first ran freefilesync, I had it backup the entire folder. When doing subsequent backups I started to focus in on what was and what wasn't necessary (all game files can be downloaded at any time from steam, so no backup required for main game files, but I do need certain paths and files backed up for configs, saves, etc.) I've been adding in exclusions to the filter for all the stuff I don't need, but when I synchronize (1-way mirror) and go check the backup, I see the folders still in place that I had later filtered out, meaning they were copied over originally before the filter was there, but then never removed after the filter was put in place.

My questions is: Is there a way to apply the new filters I have made for what's unnecessary in the steam folder to the old backed up data, or do I need to completely delete the steam folder from my backup and let it re-build (which would cause 100's of GB of unnecessary read/write operations)

The Steam folder is just one example, there are other places where this would be useful as well.

Thanks for the great program, I recommend it highly to others!

Based on [404, Invalid URL: https://sourceforge.net/p/freefilesync/feature-requests/279/] I don't believe that is possible as the ticket is still open. Would definitely be a good function to have though.
