Is it just me or if you have a filename for example " track1.mp3" (note a
space before the letter "t") and you manually copy from one hardrive to the
other (using explorer), Windows will rename the file "track1.mp3" ?
This created a complex situation. I copied a bunch of files (manually) from
one hard drive to the other and now when I run FileSync, it's basically
deleting the file and copying it back with the new trimmed filename.
I just thought I let everyone know if you have files with leading spaces on
your filenames, get rid of them first!
Another tip: If you are duplicating a 1TB drive to another 1TB with a whole
bunch of random files, do not manually copy and paste the entire TB using
Explorer. Instead, use Filesync to make a perfect filename to filename copy to
avoid any issues in the future when it comes to updating those files with
newer edits. (I learned my lesson)
I suppose an mp3 ripper program named the files with the leading spaces. Since
Win 7 does not allow you to create a new file with a leading space (it just
trims it down when you name it) this was possibly done in Win XP or a program.
Maybe a smaller conflict feature could be added to FFS such as comparing two
identical files with different but similar file names
" track1.mp3"
Vs.
"track1.mp3"
BTW great program, I really enjoy the new update with the overview panel. It
has made navigation and summarizing syncs more readable :)

...you're right! I did not even know about this feature! Actually it's not
just when copying: I have tried to create a new text document from the
"New..." contextual menu starting the name with a "blank" and after pressing
Enter the name has been trimmed... I personally hate when a computer _takes
too much freedom and decides itself for me, but in this case I think it's
a good decision!
Anyway, that's definitely something good to know!!
