When I look onto the FreeFileSync window then there is a lot of stuff which
should be put into menues or at least shrinked in size:
- "Configuration" Tab
- "Filter files" tab
- "Statistics"
- "Compare" and "Synchronize" buttons
I and many other users prefer to have as much space available for the actual
core content (=files table) as possible.
So could this one-time-setup infos be put into menues?
Thomas
Put all icon and config stuff into menus !!

These are the two buttons corresponding to the two main workflows. I don't see
a way of removing them.

Good idea. All these items are located on a subpanel that could be made
optional somehow (e.g. resizable, hidden on demand, expand on mouse-over
etc..)
But the filter icon actually contains important information, that must always
be visible on main screen. So a new GUI layout would need to consider this
(which restricts the list of possible options).

The large buttons and the info at the bottom creates a little bit of a problem
with Netbooks, which are limited to 1024x600. Would it be possible to shrink
everything a little, and perhaps move the bottom stuff up between the Compare
and Synchronize buttons?

There is too much at the botton to simply move everything up (don't forget the
view filter buttons) and the top panel would look very overloaded then. So one
option could be to get rid of statistics and configuration tab and only move
the view filter buttons between compare and sync buttons. Another idea could
be to provide a "full screen" mode (activated via F10) that hides top and
bottom panels on demand.

It's already in (v4.5).
