Syncing a network share with a local directory poses a problematic security
risk... data deleted locally goes (correctly) into the recycle bin. If the
data is deleted at the "network side" it is lost forever as it doesn't go into
the local recycle bin (and there's no centralized recycle bin).
Is possible to reevaluate this behavior?
I would suggest that the network files, before being deleted, are moved to a
local folder that is sent to recycle bin before FFS closes.
Possible?
Suggestion: Recycle Bin over Network share

Unfortunately the Windows Recycle Bin API doesn't notify when recycling is not
supported and files will be physically deleted like on network shares of usb
sticks. But using a "user-defined deletion directory" in sync settings should
solve this.
