Expert settings - globalsettings.xml

I have just come across FreeFileSync & the tests that I have carried out so far are impressive. However, I was initially a little confused by the Expert settings which are held in the globalsettings.xml file. I couldn’t find this file anywhere, then I discovered that it is written when the FreeFileSync GUI closes. So until the GUI is closed for the first time, the file doesn’t exist.
The fact that the file is written to when the GUI closes is worth mentioning in the help file (it would have saved me a few minutes). Also, since the file seems to be read when the GUI starts & written when it closes, it might be worth adding a warning, that any changes made to the file while the GUI is open will be lost when the GUI closes?
