recycle bin is not available

When I start a sync, I get the message "The recycle bin is not available for the following folders. Files will be deleted permanently instead:" and then get a reference to the Recycle Bin on the remote computer. I assume that this means that files deleted from that computer will be forever lost. Is there a way around this? Can I make that Recycle Bin "available"?

If the remote computer (e.g. a NAS) does not have recycle-bin capabilities, you can not make it available.
However, instead of selecting the recycle-bin option in FFS for "file deletion", you might be able to use the FFS built-in option of versioning instead, and use the "replace" "naming convention".
You can then specify any location ("local" or remote) where you have write access as your versioning location,
and thus sort of create your customized recycle bin for FFS based syncs.
