we work with large files that can take several minutes to write to disk and we're having trouble with FFS syncing unfinished files. eg quicktimes movies being generated.
Is there a way to tell it not to sync files that are still open/being written to??
Would switching off "copy locked files" fix this?
BTW we have tried extending the delay time but it woould need to be 10+mins to be safe and it becomes less useful at this point.

We're still having the same problem, despite having "copy locked files" off.
Any other suggestions?

FFS cannot sync locked files without VSS, so the settings must still be on.We're still having the same problem, despite having "copy locked files" off.

Nope. Not on. See attached jpg screengrab.
Is there any other place this setting can be active and overiding what I see in the FFS GUI?
Just watched an incomplete quicktime get synced (& finish syncing) while the original file has still not finished being written yet....
...still hasn't...
...now it has!
original file: 119,933KB - modified timestamp: 19 September 2014, 16:37:22
sync'ed file: 56,320KB - modified timestamp: 19 September 2014, 16:36:28
Going over our quicktimes that have been sync'ed over last few weeks, about 50% are incomplete & corrupt on our server now. Getting VERY concerned, as it will take very careful manual syncing now to rebuild.

As Yoshihiko Mori is also having similar issues with video files in:

...I'm wondering if maybe the quicktime/video files that are being created are not constantly locked until the writing finishes...
...or not.

That's possible. You can test this yourself: Just try to copy such an incomplete file via Windows Explorer and see if it works. As Yoshihiko Mori is also having similar issues with video files in:
