When using freefilsync to copy a file to sharepoint via the webclient in windows 7 is the file date not preserved. The file get the date from when it was copied.
But when copying a file manually, in explorer, to the same sharepoint site via the webclient is the date preserved, the date is the same as the original date.
Why this difference between when using freefilesync and copying manually?
Can something be done about it?

Strange, there shouldn't be any difference, unless Explorer knows a secret API hook that can do better. FreeFileSync sets the modification time, which is probably silently ignored by the webclient.

This seems to happen when uploading readonly files, if the readonly attribute is not set the date is preserved.

Can something be done to prevent this from happening, mote than remove the read only attribute?

It sounds as if re-setting the read-only attribute affects the file modification time. Is this problem reproducible?
If yes, does the following version work for you?

Yes it is.
No it does not.
But changed files seems to be a general problem with SharePoint, it is unclear when they are changed.
