Zenju, many, many thanks for any excellent product. I've been using it for backup (mirror) via schedules, but am now attempting to use RealTimeSync, and a question has arisen.

As an example, let's say C_Drive.ffs_batch has the Mirror pair C:\ and \\NAS\share\C, and has Include Filter "*", and Exclude Filter (among others) of \Windows\. The intent is to mirror all of drive C: except the Windows directory.

When this batch file is dragged to RealTimeSync, and then saved, the resulting C_Drive.ffs_real file has two items: C:\ and \\NAS\share\C. My understanding is that these are the directories that RealTimeSync will monitor (and include all subdirectories). If so, then it appears that it is monitoring all of drive C:, including the Windows directory; which means that it will invoke FFS each time something changes in the Windows directory, and there is nothing for the profile to back up.

Is this correct? Is there no way to have RTS exclude the Windows directory from monitoring, corresponding to FFS excluding the Windows directory from the mirror?

RTS currently doesn't have an exclude filter, that's a TODO for a future version.

Zenju, thanks for the reply. So until then, the choice is either to RTS the entire drive (in this scenario), or else to use Task Manager to schedule regular backups. Anyone have any thoughts on advantages or disadvantages to either approach?
