Ok,
I think you really need to improve your link utilization. Maybe this peace of software is fine for synchronizing files between a PC and local NAS. however it is realy inefective when syncronizing files between a PC and a remote share via internet (i.e a PC and a server with a shared drive through the Internet).
why? when I leave filesync to run in the background I my average PING to any remote server drops by 50MS on average. that is a huge drop isn't it. the drop is constant. it doesnt get any better I do not have time to investigate what your software is doing during that time but please improve:)

shutting down your software results in an immediate improvement in network latency for other software.
