Time-stamped log files folder

Is it possible for all the Log Files for a specific day to be placed in folder relating to that date rather than all being placed in the same folder?

i.e. in a folders such as 2016-10-03, 206-10-04 etc within the main log file folder.

I've solved this myself by adding the %date% Marco to the Log File path.

I am curious about the logic of doing it that way, why so?

I keep them in a different directory then after a while, delete them.
