Windows 8.1 Slow Synchronization Scans

I have been using FreeFileSync for a number of years to wirelessly
synchronize files between 2 Windows 7 Home Edition PC's across my home
network. There are about 400,000 files that I synchronize each day to
ensure that I have adequate backups. When running against 2 Windows 7
PC's the scan takes about 1 1/2 minutes to run.

I have since replaced one of my PC;s with a new laptop that has Windows
8.1 Home Edition on it. Now when I run the scans it takes almost 6
minutes to generate the list of differences. I cannot see anywhere that
might cause this to be that much slower. The actual mirroring runs
faster though.

I am using FreeFileSync version 6.14. Is there something else that I
should be looking at? The files are located on external USB drives on
both machines using USB 3.0 ports.

Thanks,
Joyce
