many people online as well as myself are looking for ways to sync to the cloud and encrypt files and obfuscate the filenames so the cloud provider or anyone who may be able to access the files will not see "My 2017 Tax Return.pdf" or "Latest Movie.mkv" to keep our files private and thwart an attacher from targeting a single file to try and break into.
allsync said they were adding this feature late 1st qtr '17 or early 2nd qtr '17 and i wanted to ensure that this software would add it to keep me and i'm sure many others loyal.

This is out of scope and too complex for an application like FFS, I don't believe for a second AllwaySync is going to implement this.
You could try creating an encrypted virtual disk and sync that to the cloud. http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/Windows7/AdminTips/Security/UsingBitLockertosecurelystoredatainthecloud.html
Edit: I misread.. AllSync does seem to support encryption. I'm curious if they'll be able to obfuscate the filenames in a way that Dropbox/Onedrive can't deobfuscate it, though. Using an encrypted virtual disk would take care of that and protect your local files in the process as a bonus.

FFS is using a file system abstraction layer, so technically this is certainly doable. The question is more about usefulness for a broader audience.too complex for an application like FFShappysyncer, 14 Feb 2017, 23:16

Hi
I would also (still) like to see FFS be able to encrypt (zip+aes is fine) on the fly.
Maybe I can suggest CryptSync ( http://tools.stefankueng.com/CryptSync.html and https://sourceforge.net/projects/cryptsync-sk/ )
This tool let's create settings, that filenames are encrypted as well.
