hi,

i have some problem with mtp device samsung tab 3 lite(SM-110) android 4.2.2, when i try synchronize(freefilesycn 8.9) files i get an error:

IPortableDeviceProperties::SetValues failed for WPD_OBJECT_ORIGINAL_FILE_NAME.
HRESULT: 0x8004a802, Facility: COM/OLE Interface Management

Is this a new issue for 8.9 or did FFS 8.7 or FFS 8.8 also show this error?

FFS 8.8 show the same error, i have another mtp device samsung galaxy xcover 3 (sm-g389f) android 6.0.1 and everything works great

What if you rename the file manually with Windows Explorer? Does this fail, too?

when i do manualy everthing is ok, this is full text of error:

Cannot move file
"mtp:\Ania Ajia (SM-T110)\Card\Budowy\ami.pdf.ffs_tmp" to
"mtp:\Ania Ajia (SM-T110)\Card\Budowy\ami.pdf".

Let's try to reproduce what FFS does by using Windows Explorer:

1. On the *local* drive rename "ami.pdf" to "ami.pdf.ffs_tmp"
2. Copy "ami.pdf.ffs_tmp" to the MTP device using Windows Explorer
3. On the device, rename "ami.pdf.ffs_tmp" to "ami.pdf" and see if this fails.

If this is still working, then maybe there is something for FFS to fix an we can dig deeper.

For the record: 0x8004a802 is the code for Invalid_ObjectProp_Format

I encountered this error when I synchronized folders between my desktop and smartphone on Android 13. The problem disappeared when I unchecked "Fail-safe file copy" in the settings.
