I'm currently following mrfreedberg's instructions in this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=1124
to set up a RealTimeSync script for a client who wants to open identical Outlook .pst files simultaneously. (One PC has the original .pst open, while the other PC has the backup/"mirror" .pst opened.) I read that updating .pst files while opened will require VSS (Volume Shadow Copy). I checked this setting's tickbox in FreeFileSync when I saved my batch file. However, when I opened the batch file in a text editor, I saw no flag/setting that indicated it should use VSS. How do I ensure/test that VSS will work? Does anyone know if VSS will work with RealTimeSync files (run as admin) off-hand?
The RealTimeSync shortcut in my start folder from the instructions in the link above is set to run as administrator.
Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) with RealTimeSync on Startup?

The "Copy locked files" option is part of the FreeFileSync global options.
RealTimeSync will launch FreeFileSync so the setting should be respected.
