Hello,

we use Netapp filer with stubs (similar softlinks) and F-Policy and backup them to another filer. The files have on both filers the following attributes: AOP. After restore the files (sync with freefilesync from one filer to another), the offline (O) attribut is missing and the stubs do not work.
Is there a way to retain all fille attributes?
Thanks.

The current behavior is to only copy folder attributes the first time a folder is created. Already existing folders are seen as equal.

The destination folder is empty, so the files are created by FreeFileSync. After sync the offline attribute is lost. I have seen other sync tools, that sync the offline attribut, so it possible.
Can you update FreeFileSync with the option to also sync the offline attribut?

Why would copying the stub files that have FILE_ATTRIBUTE_OFFLINE not work? The flag is just a hint about how the file content is stored, it should not have an impact on the result of the file copy operation.

Because the file is a stub on Netapp filer.
The files work fine after sync, when the offline attribut is set with an other tool. Without setting the attribut the files can not be opened. I thing Netapp needs the flag to forward the request to the real file, that is stored outside the Netapp (on Tier2). It would be fine, if FreeFileSync retain the attribut while syncing (by setting an option, not default). Thanks
