Donation Edition and .deb for Linux...

I have made a donation of 5€, but the web only offer the donation version for Win and Mac. ¿There is not a donation version for Linux?. ¿Perhaps I did a low donation?. I thought this version should solve my problem. I will explain:

I have the FFS 8.6 in Linux Mint 18. Since months ago the program notifying me that there is updates, but the update manager of Linux Mint (mintUpdate) don't download it. Now the FFS 9.2 version is released.

I have downloaded the FFS 9.2 version from the official site and tried to install it directly, but it doesn't work. Is the same problem that in this topic:

but the solution doesn't work me, because the 'build-essential' package don't appears when extract the downloaded .zip (?).

Finally, I don't understand:
- Why there is not a .deb for this program for debian, ubuntu, linux mint...?
- Why it doesn't update automatically by the update manager?.
- Why ther is not any bonus for Linux users when they donate?.

I agree it should be made clear that the donation edition is only for mac/windows users, given the fact that statistically linux and mac users are more likely to donate.
