Prematurely Stopped Sync, Now Recycle Bin Malfunctions

I was backing up my computer to an external hard drive when I interrupted the sync by stopping FreeFileSync. Now, whenever I plug in the external hard drive, I cannot right click or double click the recycle bin without Windows 10 freezing and (eventually) resetting itself. When the external hard drive is unplugged, the recycle bin works fine.

Any ideas what FreeFileSync could have done to lead to this? Possibly remapping the recycle bin or putting a lock (*.ffs) file on it or something like that?
