I use the Lubuntu 15.4 and FFS 7.3. I always have a problem in the filter editing box (include/exclude) where it stops accepting arrow keys and backspaces. I have to save, then click the funnel icon again to finish what I'm doing.
If I can provide more info, let me know. I've been using FFS for 2-4 releases and it's been like this with all of them. (It didn't start with 7.3.).

I think I've seen this issue once in a while on Ubuntu, but right now I'm not able to reproduce it.
