Thanks for the good software.
Today, I came upon the followng strange behaviour:
Background: before reinstalling Win 7, E:\ had a folder program files with Libreoffice in it (C was full).
After reinstalling Win 7 some months ago, Explorer doesn't show this folder (admin account). I am pretty sure I deleted it.
FFS settings: my own, sync only newly added files.
FFS 6.15 finds e:\program files\libreoffice with size > 450 MB and wants to snyc it (as nonexistant on right side). Explorer can't see it on the left side. (permissions problem? what user account might Win have used to install it? In general, the new installation has the same accounts as the old, and I never saw serious access problems with files)
Upgraded to 7.4 and think I read on webpage I do not need to deinstall beforehand.
FFS 7.4 finds No difference between source and target. Target is backup/copy of December 14, never updated. No, they are not identical, unless the external harddisk picks up my file additions by magic.
Now honestly without joking, do you have any idea what is going on? Can I support with any extra info? Why does FFS 7.4 see the partition and its cpy as identical?
The same happens with comparing subfolders. In English, the message is something like all files are in sync.
Crucial may be the 'add only' setting.
many thanks,
Klaus

1) full deinstall (also old settings) reinstall did help on the (wrong) message that all files are in sync.
2) the program file folder is now still shown in the tree view on the left. It now correctly shows files for the old backup (target) and no files for the source.
But by default, it shouldn't be shown in the treeview if there is no action on it - that is just confusing.
In principle, that view should follow the sync model chosen, that would make mostz sense. If I choose add new only, I might want to verify what is selected so it woud be good if only is shown what I want to be synced. (at least by default. - I can then use the bottom buttons to change that)
3) On sync, there is a message concerning conflicts. What does that mean? I chose add new only, there cannot be any conflicts in that scenario. Maybe the selection needs a 'do nothing on conflict' - that is not available yet.
4) How do I exclude a folder (maybe too large for the destination) after the list is build? Or rather, what does delete do? Delete from list? Delete from filesystem? My proposal is to name that more clearly.
thanks,
Klaus

Looks like you inadvertently used the file exclusion filter.
