Different files with the same name

I have folder C (photo downloads from my phone) and folder W (my master repository) on an external drive.

If I have a file named import_01.jpg in W already, and my latest local import to Folder C also has a file named import_01.jpg, a Comparison with "File Content" will find a delta, and the Synchonisation will suggest replacing the file in W with C, even if they are completely different files.

Now, I could understand this if I'm writing a book---'here's the new updated version of "Moby Dick Redux" in folder C so update it in W'.

But when you have pictures, most of the naming is done automatically and you're bound to have duplicate names, which is where it doesn't make sense to just overwrite the right-hand file.

I guess my expectation would be to have the possibility of renaming files when they share the same name???

That is exactly why you have the choice to define what should happen
in case (different) files exist on the left- and right-side.
