Syncing on new flash drive

I've had major problems syncing recently and I wasn't sure if it was the problem of my flash drive or if I had the wrong setting in FreefileSync, so I am going to try starting over with a new flash drive.

My setup: I have a "Documents" folder with all my files in my home desktop (quite large, 60GB), and I have a copy of the same "Documents" folder on my flash drive. I take my flash drive to work, and sync with my work computer, and then I work on them all day. Then, at night, I bring the flash drive home, sync with my home desktop. Everything had previously been consistent with no problem.

1. I just bought a new flash drive, and copied the "Document" folders from my desktop onto the new flash drive. But when I open FreeFileSync, it indicates every file on the new flash drive is different and needs to be deleted and re-copied from my desktop. I've compared and all the files should be the same. Should I go through with the sync? Or is there something I'm doing wrong?

2. The problem I've had over the last month or so is as follows:
- At work, I've moved files from one folder to another folder, and then renamed them
- When I get home to sync, the program suggests re-saving the same files with their old names from desktop, back to the usb (as well as adding the renamed files to the desktop)
- This results in doubling of files

Do I have to use Mirror every time I move files? I had been using 2-way previously and there didn't seem to be any problems detecting that I recently moved the files so that would be the "newer" arrangement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been using this program for years and it's great, but I've had a lot of trouble over the last month or two. Thank you!
