hello to all,
This program is messing up my free space , the server got 6,8 TB of free space and I'm backing-up 2 hard drives together of 3,6 TB, YES BOTH NTFS AND 4096 CLUSTER SIZE.
So i tried to update the directories and i get the answer, not enough space to perform this option, W.T.F. i should have AT LEAST 2 TB of free space to get the job done.
In a month time i got no 2 TB of files to update, max 2 Gig., but there is no space, come on............
Also there are files whose names are to long if i try to delete EVERYTHING they won't be deleted !!!!!
While there are files who has LARGER names who can be deleted, again W.T.F.
So i look at my older programs and i find " Yes its rare, but its WORKING " a REAL WORKING program of WINDOWS itself, its called SYNCTOY, AND its REAL FREEWARE..........
I even wanted to donate for this program be course hidden options would be available and i thought maby this is the solution but paying by ideal is no option, sorry i don't have a credit cart i don't WANT a credit cart.
SO, use SYNCTOY instead of this.....................b....u....l...l...s...h....i...t

You don't have to pay for FFS if you don't want to. Just download the free version and use to your heart's content. I have zero use/need for the odd extra features of the donation edition but I did donate because I think FFS a project worth giving a few Euros to now and then. No one forced me to do that, and no one is forcing you to do so either.
If you have a problem with the way FFS is working for you then just post in, describe the problem and people can see if they can guide you to a solution. As your post reads just now it seems as if you aren't inviting people to help you to a solution.

@Harm,
It should not be a problem to analyze the used space, there are freeware programs like treesize. This sounds more like wrong sync settings from you. FreeFileSync can handle long data names, but the Windows Explorer can not. And FreeFileSync does not eat space and does only what you set. Post your ffs config.
