Hey guys,
this has been an issue for me with freefilesync for quite some time. I just added a new ssd to my system and would like to copy/mirror a bunch of folders from my data drive (not the entire drive) to this new ssd preserving all useful timestamps like folder and file creation date, modification and access date. Just like you have it when you make a raw back up from an entire disk with something like Paragon Backup and Recovery and the like.
Neither windows 7 explorer copy actions nor freefilesync seem to be able to retain those folder and file attributes and timestamps. Is this even possible with freefilesync?
EDIT: So i finally solved it with windows built in command line tool 'robocopy'. An explanation can be found here for example. https://www.petri.com/copy-files-preserve-timestamp
Hope to see this functionality make into freefilesync some day. Just a little check box to retain timestamps would be sufficient.
Copying/mirroring Folders to an empty drive preserving all timestamps?
