Way to limit/throttle copies?

Is anyone aware of a way to limit or throttle copies with FreeFileSync?

Seeing how I'm asking the opposite of what most of us want, I'll note why. For some reason, when I'm running a sync (~32gb), from a RAID1 group to a USB 3.1 drive, the thumb drive stops responding and disappears from Windows requiring an unplug/plug of the thumb drive. It's probably a windows driver issue, or just windows ;o), but I'm wondering if I could slow or limit the sync/copies if it would stop failing.
