I am seeing this warning message in a log file:
The recycle bin is not available for the following folders. Files will be deleted permanently instead:
<path>
What does this mean and how do I resolve this warning?

The warning is pretty self-descriptive. Nevertheless:
Windows uses recycle bins for its fixed disks.
However, e.g. most NAS systems do not have a recycle bin (or sometimes they do, but those are not available to the (Windows) operating system running FFS). So, files to be deleted from e.g. a NAS can not be deleted by moving those to the recycle bin.
If that is important to you, try using Versioning as your Delete Method.
Then files to be deleted (from your local system or from e.g a NAS) are moved to the Versioning location, which is a self selected location, not a predefined location (like the recycle bin).
