App hangs with syncing .xls/.xlsx files to network drive

I've noticed lately that the app hangs with syncing .xls/.xlsx Excel files to my work's network drive (see image below). I wasn't sure if it was due to the files being large (~2MB) or if it was due to the specific file types. It seems be due to the file types as I tried a larger 6MB .txt file and that sync'd fine. Also, I can copy the files directly to the network location just fine.

I don't recall having this issue in the past, but I also haven't synced a .xls/.xlsx file for some time.
