This just started today. I upgraded to 7.8 yesterday. Now everytime i try to compare I get Not Responding. I can'tkill the program. I have to reboot the laptop.
It goes through the Compare but when I try to sync it locks up. I can sync with another device.
I noticed it gets hung up at initializing the sync.ffs_lock

Do you use ffs with copy locked files? Problems with VSS or AntiVirus Software?
I had this Problems with a Version of G DATA. It had blocked all IOs an the Harddisk, so ffs hangs also. Only a hard-reboot was helping. In my case - G DATA removed and all good.

I get the same error under Windows 10. If I try to delete the sync.ffs_lock file it immediately gets re-created by the program and the program is constantly in waiting for the file to be gone. So it's impossible to synchronize.

This means that there are additional FFS processes running, probably scheduled by Task Planer. A single FFS process won't re-create the sync.ffs_lock files during a sync session.file it immediately gets re-created by the program
