Hi,

Hopefully a simple solution - here's the terminal output :

~$ /opt/FreeFileSync_10.12_Linux/FreeFileSync/FreeFileSync
*** Error in `/opt/FreeFileSync_10.12_Linux/FreeFileSync/Bin/FreeFileSync_i686': free(): invalid pointer: 0xb2eff340 ***
Aborted

Sounds as if your Linux distribution is not supported by FreeFileSync. Which Linux variant are you running?

This is on a Deb Jessie 32 bit. When I run it on a Deb Buster 64 bit it seems to be OK.
Any 32 bit you know it works on perhaps ? Thank You.

FFS is currently Stretch-based, but since Jessie is still in LTS, probably makes sense to base on the latter:

My Jessie is still stuck on this one.

Terminal output today :

$ /opt/FreeFileSync_10.13_beta_Linux/FreeFileSync/FreeFileSync
*** Error in `/opt/FreeFileSync_10.13_beta_Linux/FreeFileSync/Bin/FreeFileSync_i686': free(): invalid pointer: 0xb24ff340 ***
Aborted

Still an invalid pointer trying to boot in 32 bit.

Thanks for taking a look.

Do you have all the latest system updates installed?

Hi,

As a matter of fact I upgraded Jessie to Stretch 32 bit. Surprised it worked as that is sometimes a job that can be a little unreliable. I don't think buster has 32 bit so my old 32 bit machines can just use stretch then.

Ran FFS 10.12 OK. Surprised it skipped a number of /dev /tmp and .socket files but that's how it works then. As long as ACL's and everything else gets sync'd it should be able to recover if needed. If anything comes up I'll ask. I'm just backing up internal drive to USB drive so not much else to do. Seems pretty fast.

Thanks.
