massive directories

I have been trying to move some massive folders.
I have a large flat files system for DICOM information. I need to move from one server to another.
7+TB. Freefilesync keeps filling RAM on the server and crashing. 12G ram 16 proccessors on a Dell R740
Is there a way to avoid this?

You are probably better suited to do smaller syncs. Do a certain number of directories, like 10 or so, so you don't end up comparing the whole data set towards the end

You could also increase page file on the server. I'm guessing it is set statically if programs are crashing
