Versioning options explained

Forgive my newbie ignorance but can I clarify I am reading the option on Versioning correctly.

There are 3 options:
Last x days
Minimum
Maximum

Now the way I read it is this..

If I set the "Last x Days" to "30" it will remove a backup file older than 30 days.
If I set Minimum to "1" it will still retain the latest file even if older than 30 days.
If I set the Maximum to "10" it will only retain the last 10 files even if the file has changed more.

Am I correct or totally wrong?
