Hi,
I´m using freefilesync to deal with video files. Since these file are usually big files they take some minutes to be copiede.
The problem: in the destination directory there´s a service that will process de video file generating a low resolution proxy file and a thumbnail from the first frame. As the copy take several minutes to finish, the program starts generating the low resolution proxy file and finishes while the file isn´t complete.
A sugestion: it would be veluable if we had an option to copy to a temporary file, maybe with a .tmp extension/maybe a hidden file, and only at the end the file should be renamed to it´s previous name. Doing this way I think that my problems should disappear as the conversion program search for an specific file extension to start the conversion process.
Is there any feature that could help me?
Best regards.

But this is what's already happening (menu -> options: fail-safe file copy).

Hi,
So it´s not working for me. For large files, randomly, we get bad proxy files. To solve the problem, we move the original file to another folder and another proxy file is generated. Based on this fact I believed the problem was the service processing the file before the end of the copy.
Fail-safe file copy is selected.
Thank you.
