Can't ignore a directory tree but includ a single file

I created include and exclude lists that contain these:

Include:

*
\PPL\PPL_Index.htm


Exclude:

\PPL\


But I can't get FFS to include that single file (PPL_Index.htm). It just ignores it.

What am I doing wrong here?

Set to this \/
Remove the star from include and remove the exclusion.

Include:
\PPL\PPL_Index.htm

Exclude:

I should've been more clear- I have lots of other files and directories that I need to copy in this job (and it's working well, except for this file). But from this one directory (PPL), I just want the one file and want to ignore the rest of the directory and subdirs. Your suggestion would work if this is the only file in the sync job. I didn't make that very clear.

Look at the "Exclude a sub folder except for certain files" example in the FFS Manual section on Excluding items.

At your suggestion, I examined that page. I had already tried the technique there using wildcards only for the filename. But I tried slightly differently, as shown on that page- it failed too.

Then I realized it first said to set up the folder pairs twice with different exclude and include filters. And it worked perfectly.
