I have used Free File Synch v 5 only once to date to copy My Docs on my laptop
to an external hard drive as a backup, which went very well.
It is now a couple of weeks later and I wanted to synch again to keep the
backup current. I compared the two ie the laptop and the backup on the
external hard drive and Free File Sych noted there was 209 files to add, 14
files to update and 78 to delete. When I then press the synch button and then
the start button, I end up with an error message "User-defined directory for
deletion was not specified!" with two options - ignore or abort. I have tried
both options at different times and nothing happens - ie the files dont
sychronise. I then tried removing (by un- highlighting the individual files)
the 78 files to be deleted from the synch list in case they were causing a
problem. Still no good.
I am very much an amateur with computers etc and am hoping someone can help -
in laymans terms......
Thanks Sharon
