Opening a separate ticket as requested.

I'm using Freefilesync 5.0 (but earlier versions have the same issue).

I use Freefilesync to synchronize files and folders to a common network share,
the files and folders are used for reporting and completion of projects etc.

It is therefore of outmost importance that what I have locally on my machine
is what is present on the central share.

Today I got a report that some files were missing, so I investigated and found
that some files indeed was missing, do I did a new comparison and sync with no
problems, or so I thought. I received no report or error message, but I could
see in the reported list of files and folders on the right side of the
comparison that several directories was missing from one of the folders.

I looked at it closed and found that Freefilesync did not report these
directories to even exist, even if it did not exist on the left side folder at
all, I checked manually as well. So I reset the settings on the sync job to
the folder that was missing the subfolders in the comparison and did a fresh
compare, but no difference.

I then went ahead and deleted the freefilesync DB that was connected to that
particular job, sync.ffs_db, and did a re-comparison, this time it reported 2
or the 3 missing directories.

I've also tried to set the sync settings different between automatic, mirror
and update, but that doesn't change anything in the results.

It should say 2 of 3, not "or".

I meant a bug tracker item. I've copied the text and created a new one:
