This is the 2nd time this happends to me :-(
I started FreeFileSync as always.
Then it presented a messages about invalid/illegal pparameters or something in the profile or something.
And then started with ALL settings, window placement etc GONE.
Terribly annoying. Why is this happening? Is there a backup? Is there a way to backup settings?
Edit: Found a copy of mye roaming profile, but these files give the same error. And bothe the XML and ffs_gui files seems to consist of only NUL characters? Why on earth is this happening? :-/
This only happened to most people once, and was fixed be manually installing FFS over the existing version. Although, it never lost settings for me. I doubt your drive is failing specifically for this symptom, but worth a check.
I have now backed up the settings in the roaming profile in case it happends again
(I found a files that was not corrupted on a older backup). Strange that both files where affected.
My drive is a Samsung SSD, and no other problemes detected (all SMART data says all OK).
