I love FreeFileSync for its simplicity and functionality and used it mainly
for mirroring two large folders. In the first case the destination is a USB
hard drive, in the second a NAS. In both cases the source lays on my PC hard
drive under Windows 7 64-bit.
For a few weeks now I can only sync with the USB drive. When I try to sync
with the NAS, the program crashes after a few minutes while running the
comparing. It happens neither after a specific time nor while comparing a
specific file. After the program has crashed, I always get two messages, first
"The program doesn't function any more". After that I get the second message
that I have to report the problem to Microsoft and the following files could
help me with my problem:
C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WER4357.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5CF0.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5D30.tmp.hdmp
When I search for these files they aren't there.
I don't know what the problem could be because FreeFileSync worked for quite a
while perfectly. I didn't change anything on my system either.
Can anyone help me please?

It's difficult to deduce the source of this issue with only a generic error
description. The best you can do is do a couple of tests, changing some of the
"variables", e.g. the tool you use for copying, operating system (if possible)
different source and target drives... ects. After a sufficient number of
tests, one usually finds some kind of "trigger".
