I think there is an issue about that "too many files open" error.
I still have this problem (see my post in 2019) but, together with other users in this forum, I never got my problem solved.
I think i was the last time I donate to this App.

The folder synchronization affects an iPhoto library and I'm pretty sure, that there are users who have photo libraries with way more photos/fies than I do.
Apart from that I'm a "normal" user and don't want hack around in any source code lines...
