What is the [Donation_Edition]_Setup.key for?

I have done a dontion to FreeFileSync and recivied the donation edition which comes in a zip file with a special reg file I guess I have to run so that it modify the registry. But windows doesn't recongize it and it won't work. Anyway FreeFileSync works without problems. Am I missing something?

Running the setup file is the only action needed, but the .key file must be present in the same location of the setup file during the install.

It is also not a registry file at all, those end in .reg

Hi, I have a similar problem. I also downloaded the donation edition 15 together with the key, but my system says, the key cannot be used anymore (I use Avira anti-virus if that helps). I am not able to install the setup.exe file as it says "Installer cannot load required file .... setup.key"
I'm stuck. Any idea? Thanks.

Ok, some things get solved quickly - I only had to move the key file to the very same location as the setup file, and then everything worked properly. Thanks anyway.
